Ghanaians storm morgue to see Ebony's body

Following the unfortunate demise of dancehall artiste, Ebony last Thursday, Ghanaians rushed to the Mankranso Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region on Friday morning to catch a glimpse of the body of the "Sponsor" hitmaker.

According to reports by the Daily Guide newspaper, hundreds of Ghanaians thronged the morgue where the dead body of the musician was initially deposited.

Some of the people who were at the mortuary told the newspaper that they could believe the talented Ebony was dead.

“We don't believe reports of the demise of Ebony, who is blessed with exceptional music talent, so we want to see her lifeless body."

Even though the hospital's staff, especially, the mortuary attendants, prevented many from entering the mortuary some people still managed to enter the morgue to take pictures and also record the lifeless bodies of Ebony and the two other deceased persons, which have gone viral.

Ebony Reigns died in a gruesome road accident that occurred late Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

The 20-year-old singer and three other persons were on board a Jeep with registration AS 497-16, travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi when a head-on collision occurred.

The driver of the vehicle escaped death, however, two other occupants - a military officer identified as Francis Atsu Vondee and Ebony's P.A, Franky, died later at the Bechem Government Hospital after they were rushed there.

Nana Appiah Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zylofon Media while speaking on his stance of the criticisms he is facing on social media for comments he made about Ebony has said Ghanaians are ignorant.

Speaking on Zylofon FM, the young CEO of the radio station said “tribute are mostly based on the last encounter one has had with the deceased.”

However, Ghanaians have attacked him for revealing conversations he had had confidentially with the dancehall diva prior to her sadden death on Thursday February 8 2018.

Mr Mensah had posted earlier that Ebony was in a hurry to join him at the Zylofon mdeia from the Ruff Town records where shehadbeen from 2015 before she got involved in the gory car accident that caused her death.

He stated that Ebony on a phone call with him, while he was in London, told him about her desire to join the growing Media vrand he is heading.

Upon his arrival in the country, he and the “Maame Hwe” hitmaker reached an agreement and had said he planned on signing her to the Zylofon Media this week.

Saying this, he also said he was ready to pay off Ruff Town records for the dancehall diva.

He further said that his tweet was a call for affirmative action for women in the entertainment industry.

He also indicated that, the hot comments from Ghanaian. are not a worry of him at all.

“Your derogatory messages cannot break me. These verbal assaults amount to mob injustice.” He said.

However, he stated that he is not beyond criticisms and he therefore accepts them in good faith.

“I’m not beyond criticisms, I accept all criticisms in good faith.”

The manager of the late Dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns has revealed that the singer knew she will not live long on earth even before they met.

According to Bullet, Ebony told him of a death prophecy over her [Ebony] the very first day.

Ebony died in a gory accident on last Thursday, near Mankranso on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway.

Immediately after the news of her death broke, there have a number of prophets who have claimed that they predicted her tragic death but she failed to heed their advice.

But in his first interview after Ebony's death, Bullet debunked the claims that his artiste ignored such prophecies.

Speaking to Abeku Santana on Okay FM's drive time on Monday which was monitored by YEN.com.gh, Bullet revealed that in his first meeting with Ebony, she disclosed that a woman had told her that "her success would come through Ruff and Smooth but she will not live long thereafter".

"Whatever that woman had told Ebony had come to pass except the death prophecy and we were doing everything we could to avert it", YEN.com.gh heard him say.

Bullet therefore asked that those making those claims should leave Ebony to rest in peace.

Kwabena Owusu-Sekyere, spokesperson for the family of Priscilla Opoku – Kwarteng aka Ebony Reigns is pleading with Men of God who are on radio mincemeat out of her death with prophecies to stop that.

According to him, the family is grief-stricken over her death and are seriously mourning and putting in place preparations to give her a befitting burial and therefore see what is going on as a deliberate ploy by these prophets to aggravate their plight.

“She belongs to all of us. She is dead and I will plead with all pastors that we are grieving and will appreciate it if they stop the ranting on the radio because it is not auguring well for us the bereaved family. We admit she is no more and there is no denying the fact about it”, he revealed to Akwasi Aboagye on Peace Fm.

A number of prophets in the last 72-hours have been on a collision course as to who actually predicted the death of sensational dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns which sad event occurred on Thursday, February 8, 2018.

One Prophet E. K. Mensah of the Christ Vision Prayer Ministry claims Shatta Wale is next to exit the earth by July 2018 if he does not repent.

The dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns was involved in a ghastly road accident at Nyamebekyere near Makranso in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region leading to her death.

Her black Jeep vehicle with registration number AS 497-16 collided head-on with a KIA Grand Bird VIP bus with registration number GT3232-17 from the opposite direction.

The remains of Ebony and two other occupants established to be her bodyguard and a close pal who were in the vehicle with her have since been deposited at a local hospital in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The driver, Chartey Oko is currently on admission at Bechem Government Hospital receiving treatment.

The death of Dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns in a gory accident last Thursday, has come as a shock to many.

Family, fans and even political leaders including President Nana Akufo-Addo and former President John Mahama have all expressed their surprise over the incident.

Ebony's mother, Beatrice Oppong, who saw off the singer after she visited her in Sunyani, in a radio interview , was heard wailing, literally, over her daughter's death.

The father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, however, has been manly in his public interviews and he was able to control his emotions as he summed up his reaction that "Ghana was blessed to have my queen".

But considering how close he and her daughter were, it is quite obvious that Ebony's dad would be the most affected by his death.

Ebony's took her dad out on 'date' during his birthday last year.

Apart from the regular dinners between father and daughter, Ebony's father was highly involved in her life and career.

He is on record to have stated he sanctioned her daughter's decision to leave school, midway through SHS, to pursue a career in music.

He has defended her in the face of all criticisms against her dressing saying her daughter is not 'bad' girl and that he sometimes chooses her stage outfits for her showing a very deep bond between them.

Ebony's death would therefore be a very big blow to him and he summed it up in his interview that, "my girl was special and I'll forever miss her".

Ghanaian actor and entrepreneur, John Dumelo has lashed out at the entertainment industry for being ‘hypocrites’ following the death of dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns.

John Dumelo, who was among the distraught celebrities after news of the tragic loss surfaced, said stakeholders in the entertainment industry never supported the musician with even a simple retweet, but are now mourning her after she has died.

YEN.com.gh sighted a tweet by the actor on his official Twitter account, where he called on all to change their ways, since everyone is now acting as if they cared about Ebony.

The actor seems to not be the only person who shares these sentiments, are many other Twitter accounts trooped to reply his tweet with their acknowledgement of his words.

Meanwhile, the sister of the late dancehall songstress has revealed that she had a dream about her sister prior to the accident, that indicates that the musician knew her time in this world had come to an end.

Speaking to GhOne TV in an interview, Happy narrated a dream she had had prior to the accident, where she saw Ebony at an event, and after her performance, Ebony had asked that they head home together.

“After the show, she walked to me and asked that we go home. I asked which home because she had a show. But she was saying it with so much joy. I then told her my dress isn’t really cool so she should take the lead. If only I had known, I would have asked her to wait for me and she would have waited. But because I told her to take the lead, she took the lead,” she said.
