Man, 38, arrested for locking up mentally ill wife in hen coop for 1 year

-A mason has been arrested for locking up his mentally-ill wife in a hen coop for over a year
-The suspect locked the wife to prevent her from destroying things when he is not around
A 38-year-old mason has found himself on the wrong side of the law for allegedly locking up his wife in a hen coop for over a year.

Vincent Antwi, the mason who has been arrested for locking up his wife in a hen coop
Vincent Antwi, reports indicate, stays with the wife [name withheld] at Awutu Papase near Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.
The wife has been mentally ill for sometime and Antwi locks her up in the coop whenever he is going out of the house.
According to him, the wife destroys the properties of neighbours anytime he leaves her alone in the house hence his decision to be lock her in the coop.
YEN.com.gh has gathered he has been arrested by the Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Command over the matter.
Confirming the incident, the District Police Commander, ASP Christopher Darkey, revealed on Accra FM that the case has been referred to Kasoa branch of DOVVSU for further investigation.
